Infinity Ward created the technology which powers the Call of Duty Franchise when it released Call of Duty 2 back in 2005.

Since then each Call of Duty game has had tweaks to the engine to the increase the performance, graphics, and gameplay with each successive title in the franchise.

It appears that the next Call of Duty game will be no different. Robert Bowling, in response to questions on Twitter claimed

So this Fall (more than likely), Call of Duty will be going up against Battlefield 3 with what will more than likely be the same technology that it used at the very onset of this generation.

We have heard how gamers have been voicing their opinions on the gameplay trailer footage of Battlefield 3, I wonder how the vote will turn out when consumers vote with their wallets this Fall.

I love how all people are like " OMG They don't change the Engine for 6 years" I'm sure if they changed it we will get threads after release like " The new engine sucks" " New Engine killed COD" " Petition to get old engine back"

COD Community loves to moan about everything, it's normal.

In Flames Much?
IT not all true.......and bad news

Same engine just upgraded
Major upgrades yes

Look at black ops that has alot of stuff which past games never supported.
Think of this COD engine 8

Ok it not a complete rewrite of the code but it still a new engine based on the past engine

If they were dumb enough to do that, itd better be a 50+ killstreak. And the streaks better not count towards your next one.

You don't know that, its been said about EVERY upcoming COD since COD4 and everyone is disappointed.

Also, the game engine used in COD is fine, it runs at 60 frames a second which very few other engines can boast. Don't fix anything that isn't broken. The engine is the only thing right in COD.

So does this mean that there will be the stupid Connection Error all the time again in the new CoD? or is that to do with something else?

Dont know much about all this stuff lol....
Game goes in PS3, I play, done. I dont need to know where it came from who made it or anything :P

Cake is a lie
All of you saying BF3 will be back. Same guys saying BF2 would own yet they were back to MW2 in weeks.

Most people are biased so they will always say the next FPS game will beat COD but it never does. Medal of Honor games are better than BF3 anyway.
