Infinity Ward created the technology which powers the Call of Duty Franchise when it released Call of Duty 2 back in 2005.

Since then each Call of Duty game has had tweaks to the engine to the increase the performance, graphics, and gameplay with each successive title in the franchise.

It appears that the next Call of Duty game will be no different. Robert Bowling, in response to questions on Twitter claimed

So this Fall (more than likely), Call of Duty will be going up against Battlefield 3 with what will more than likely be the same technology that it used at the very onset of this generation.

We have heard how gamers have been voicing their opinions on the gameplay trailer footage of Battlefield 3, I wonder how the vote will turn out when consumers vote with their wallets this Fall.

Black Op's game engine is quite similar to that of BFBC2. That was the first thing I noticed. Only thing thats different for the CoD4 and MW2 engines were that they tweaked the movement. MW2 was given a more robust and realistic movement to it.

Black Ops in my opinion has that "Swagga" walk to it. Like BBFC2, it seems that you wobble when you walk. But after you play it for awhile you sorta get use to it. Now if MW3 used GT5's game engine I'd die lol.

This post is a fail.
As is SMASHIN's post, read the OP, it clearly states that they are using the same engine with some minor tweaking.
If they were to be making a new engine they would have had to be working on it for the past few years which we all know isn't true seeing as they were only given the job a few months ago.

I never said you did, but saying that the COD engine is similar to BF engine is a fail.

The BO engine is. Look at how its tweaked. The movement aspect is similar. Go play the two. Look at gaming footage when you walk. You'll see the similarity. If you don't then you never played any FPS games to get a feel for the physics of the game.

Your implied statement. You must login or register to view this content.

Giving the notation that I'm trying to say they are going to use a new engine. Its quite obvious it takes awhile to make new engines. :derp: Look how long it took GT5 to be released. Well over 5 years.

BO engine and MW2 engine are the same thing
I've played every COD, and from COD4 up they all feel the exact same, and BFBC2 is a HUGE difference to any of the "different" COD engines.
Ask anyone.

Wow you went through all that trouble just to get a screenshot.
Did you read Smashin's post, he is suggesting that they are creating a new engine.

Once again... look at the performance. BO was teaked similar to BFBC2... when you walk you seem to wobble side to side... sorta like you do when you walk in real life. Thats the motion from picking your foot up, and moving it in front of you. BFBC2 has a more radical wobble. Which I said in my OP. You can even see it a bit when you play BO. Thats why my initial response when I first got BO was horrible.

Yea I saw his post /facepalm.

I think I know where your getting lost. I can't really explain that wobble in greater terms. But we can establish that BFBC2 and CoD engines are different. Its just BO has that different tweak for walking. Sorta like BFBC2. BO just has it on a lesser scale making it feel a lot more realistic.
