Infinity Ward created the technology which powers the Call of Duty Franchise when it released Call of Duty 2 back in 2005.

Since then each Call of Duty game has had tweaks to the engine to the increase the performance, graphics, and gameplay with each successive title in the franchise.

It appears that the next Call of Duty game will be no different. Robert Bowling, in response to questions on Twitter claimed

So this Fall (more than likely), Call of Duty will be going up against Battlefield 3 with what will more than likely be the same technology that it used at the very onset of this generation.

We have heard how gamers have been voicing their opinions on the gameplay trailer footage of Battlefield 3, I wonder how the vote will turn out when consumers vote with their wallets this Fall.

Thats the motion from picking your foot up, and moving it in front of you. BFBC2 has a more radical wobble. Which I said in my OP. You can even see it a bit when you play BO. Thats why my initial response when I first got BO was horrible.

Yea I saw his post /facepalm.

I think I know where your getting lost. I can't really explain that wobble in greater terms. But we can establish that BFBC2 and CoD engines are different. Its just BO has that different tweak for walking. Sorta like BFBC2. BO just has it on a lesser scale making it feel a lot more realistic.

Maybe a 99% less on the scale. BO feels absolutely nothing like BFBC 1 or 2 or 1993.

It doesn't I'm just saying that the CoD engine was tweaked to make it look more realistic when you run and walk :p

Stride is the word I was looking for. The make your stride seem a lot more realistic.

Black Op's game engine is quite similar to that of BFBC2. That was the first thing I noticed. Only thing thats different for the CoD4 and MW2 engines were that they tweaked the movement. MW2 was given a more robust and realistic movement to it.

Black Ops in my opinion has that "Swagga" walk to it. Like BBFC2, it seems that you wobble when you walk. But after you play it for awhile you sorta get use to it. Now if MW3 used GT5's game engine I'd die lol.

Did you know that you hate Black Ops

Trey use IW engine Winky Winky
It from COD4 they used a engine called IW engine

Trey change bits of the engine to suit the game. That why black ops has a different art style and feel with it guns compared to MW2.

It what happens with unreal engine devs change it to suit there needs or any engine.

Should they use a new engine no....
It would mean longer dev times and also may bring up more bugs.
They should look at improving the game looks a bit unless they are happy with the cartoon artstyle compared to the photoreal BF.

NO WAY /facepalm

Not that I already didn't know that. Again where did I say they were going or should use a new engine... NEVER. Not once. :derp: I took 5 years for GT5 to come out so go figure how long a new CoD engine would take.

CoD dev's use the same engines... Yes. They are tweaked so differently that they could be considered different engines. GTA is like that. GTA 5 is also going to similar.. mostly because Take Two's Rockstar Dev's have been tweaking it a lot from GTA4.

Yes way and i know that just making sure people understand that e.g people who don't read and need things repeated.

Most think it IW engine and Trey has there own one
Just one engine being changed and molded each time to suit the game.

GT used GT4 engine again changed it
Only real example you could use for a new engine is look how long cryengine 1 took to make.

(Sorry can't think of any other engines which have been made from the start recent.)

It interesting you seen some of the hidden detail trey put into black ops mainly the moving and camera looking like your moving. Most users miss details like that Winky Winky

Tbh i think most users don't want a new engine just a new P2P code which works alot better.

Maybe your post was the wrong one to answer back too but hey Smile
One thing i like about the COD engine how they are able to pull off 60FPS. That interesting the methods they used.
