(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I have all the points soldered and the right kernel xbox, and I can't dump the nand. I have read that I have to put my XP computers LPT port into SPP but my compute does not have that as an option. What do I do?

nandpro2 is the program you use in command prompt though.

How else are you trying to dump your nand?

yeah im using nandpro2.0b from the commandline of my Windows XP 32 bit install

the printerport doesnt have the SPP option in BIOS so I chose EPP (Enhanced, rather than Standard) - I assume the change won't affect anything.

I get the 3 testing messages and then the error from nandpro. I've checked my soldering just now and it looks fine (no wires touching, shorting out, etc).
When the xbox is on and i run the nandpro, whatever is happening causes the xbox to shutdown (just something I tested out myself)

Dumping your nand you do not need it on, nor should you turn it on.

It must be plugged in though.

If you are only seeing error's while trying to run nandpro (IE not finding the nand flash) then 99% most likely it is your soldering. Check your points, make SURE (I only say this because I did it) that you are using the correct LPT pins.

What motherboard? (Xenon, Falcon, etc..)
How long are you wires from the port to the board?

I've the xenon motherboard, firmware 5766
My soldering looks solid, all the wires going to the correct places, etc.
I've also got the two JTAG diodes & wire soldered in place.

I've been trying different things for hours today and almost all of last night

The wire is about 3 or 4 feet i'd say

That is your problem.

Shorten it, IE mine are under 12 inches.

I should clarify this a little more, longer wires create more resistance thus your resistance values being larger then they should be and not allowing you to properly communicate with the nand chip.

ah okay, I do have the "100" resistors on several of the wires as stated by the guide I followed. i thought this would compensate?

I'm not too sure I have a shorter wire laying around

You need to cut what you have then and solder the wire back together or unsolder then solder it back on fresh. It really does make a difference.
