i have used .bin to iso convertor to try and get file stucture out of it, it i get same jargon!!!
does anyone know the encryption that the patch uses??
or had anyone got any ideas of where i can go from here?> :confused:

i been thinking how i could get some sort of file stucture from the patch, or indeed the whole decrypted data.
heres what i am gonna try..........
am gonna use a convertor .bin to .iso
then i am gonna find a data recovery program, see if it will pick up the .iso as a disc drive / cd image
use it to extract all the data from the .iso > hopefully i will get a file stucture that way.
but then am gonna have the problem off putting it back in place.
any help from anyone with knowledge in .bin etc would be great. and credit will be given for your part.

I remember reading somewhere on ps3news by a guy called ifcari or sumin saying that he used r-studio to mount the bin or sumin like that (so making it appear as a HDD on the computer so you can access it) and apparently its sumin like UFS2 format. Hope this helps

Does it have to be the EXACT size? Because the dummy is 2.2GB and my .bin file was 2.16GB...bit depressing if it turns out not to be the dummy lol

not exactly same size. remember, you pulling all sectors except 0x00
so with it being bigger, you have infact found the dummy along with root folder to hdd.
