Here's why:
PKG's are SIGNED with a Sony key. If you attempt to edit the file, it must be resigned. Say you do know the key. If you do, then why are you attempting to edit a PKG? You could just decrypt the HDD, then edit the file on the HDD. You could do much more than that, even, including making your own custom firmware which supports extracting game data to a USB Drive. Anyone who ACTUALLY thinks they have done anything with PKG's is wrong. Seriously. People with Debug/Test PS3's with all those extra debugging features can't even do anything with them. If you think that looking at these files in a hex editor is going to do anything, it won't.

Just a little something to prevent people from getting false hope.

I'm probably wrong about some of this, but I do KNOW that PKG's are signed and can't be edited in any way shape or form.

I find it hard to believe that across the world that only two people can do it.
I think there's probably lots of people who can do it, they just haven't made it publicly known that they can like Hunter and Unkn0wn have.

Thank you for actually clearing that up with most of the community. The pkgs are signed with a RSA512 key...so have fun trying to brute that (NOT crc32 lol)..

You've been the one behind the scenes that helped hunter out, so you obviously know how it works. :y:

I'd like to believe ihatecompvir, because he's found out a few things ( {--} and no recoil, for example) plus I like playing TBRB with him.
