packet injection?

I'm starting to think this could be a valid approach. I don't see a lot of people talking about it but I don't see why we can't use sniffed packets to figure out the traffic and inject our own mods in there. Especially if you were host, you could pretty much take control of the entire game by deciding which packets to send out.
