(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey guys I'm gonna make a series of miniguides which highlight and explain the strategies and basics of the secondaries.

The layout will be as follows..
Introduction
Attachments
Perks
Classes

Okay now on to the actual guide.

RANGER

Introduction
The Ranger is a powerful shotgun, if used correctly. Many people consider it cheap, but if it works then use it. Anything is cheap if it kills the opponent on this game..

NOTE: You cannot ADS with this gun, your ADS button becomes your left barrel, although you can shoot either and it will do the same damage and have the same range.

Attachments
The Ranger has two attachments, FMJ and Akimbo. Once you get the ten kills, you need to equip akimbo. The Ranger is always hipfire, and when you use akimbo you ad the second shotgun with no sacrifices. FMJ just adds the ability to not lose power and range while shooting through walls.

When using akimbo with the Ranger you should always fire both barrels of one gun, rather than fire all four shells on one guy or fire one from each gun. When you fire a shot from each gun you are making yourself infinitely more vulnerable when you reload. If you shoot both barrels of one gun, then you still have one out while reloading. You should always have a gun available in case another person runs in.

Perks
Rangers dont really benefit from any perks. Stopping Power still has the same amount of shots per kill.. and then nothing else directly affects the gun. If you run around with these as primaries you will want scavenger.. steady aim isnt that useful for a shotgun.
The stats for a Ranger kill
Point blank OHK
Mid.(Top and Bottom reticle things are on head and foot) OHK
Long(Top is directly above the u if the name is Guest 2 and bottom is foot) 2HK
if painkiller is on the Point blank and Mid are the same while Long is 3HK.

Classes
Rush
Any
Ranger akimbo
semtex or tknife
flashbang
Scavenger
Lightweight/Coldblooded depending on gametype and map.
Ninja
Painkiller

Doesn't need to be explained

Defense
LMG or powerful assault rifle
Ranger Akimbo
Tactical Insertion
preference
Scavenger
ColdBlooded
Ninja
Painkiller

This class is good for defending an objective in a spawning objective game. You could use c4 or claymore but if you put a tacinsertion somewhere nearby yet safe you can always get back and get revenge if you are killed. Don't confuse this as camping, its more patrolling an area to make sure noone captures the objective..

Now you can see why it is a miniguide, and hopefully you gained a little bit of knowledge with this.

Special thanks to JOS! I will post some links later.

Meh. You want sleight of hand if you're running about using these as a primary. You get plenty of ammo. Due to the bad range, lightweight is the best 2nd perk so you can rush your targets and get as close to them as possible before firing. Steady aim is a good perk as it makes the shotgun pellets have less spread and therefore greater accuracy, but ninja or scrambler could also be effective depending how you're using them.

Good tip. Most people don't think about this, smart.

sleight of hand pro does not effect it i thought?

anyways i do agree that something like marathon and lightweight could be good to use as this gun is only good for in close so you can use those perks to get close to your enemy faster, also i do change my mind, i think steady aim is a good perk for this gun, especially since the only thing you are going to be doing is hip firing

Yes but due to the very small capacity, sleight of hand is pretty much essential for the fast reloading as you may use up all 4 shells on one target if it's a messy kill.

Also one more tip, the rangers have a very long reload animation, so as soon as the ammo appears in your HUD, sprint or YY. This isn't so important with SoH but still a good idea.

alright that point is true about the faster reloading, it can be life saving, but the thing you got to remember is, you are using this gun as a secondary, not your primary, so your primary gun is going to also change your decision on what perks and such you are going to use, so remember that

Also very true, but I like to plan my classes carefully so that the perks I choose will benefit my primary and secondary.

'Cos I totally have a life :P
