Thats where he explains all of this, and he also says how he 'can' & 'others' 'can' exploit their 400million dollar security system.

I forgot most of it, but the video explains this stuff.

Climbing up the ladder
Enabling the dev console still wont be able to achieve the mods hunter and unkn0wn have achieved. The dev console only allows dvars not full gsc coding like unlock all

Duly noted, Taco and Illini, I stand partially corrected. However, I am still not convinced I can rule this out yet. Illini, If I am correct, the game still has to operate with GSC coding, Im not familiar with a game operating on DVARS/CVARS only. I'm pretty sure you still need GSC base coding to create the environment. If I understand it correctly, when you change the GSC codes your manipulating how the player model interacts with the environment; not the player model itself. Feel free to give me your thoughts.

Thanks Benere,

I have somthing else to share, look what I found this morning on modern warfare's website. I feel this further backs my assumption of enableing the developers console:

Hidden Game Modes
Modern Warfare 2's developer console has been hacked, thus allowing modders to access many of the games hidden 'features'. It seems that MW2 has 4 hidden game modes that didn't make it in time for the games release.

Arena - Round based capture the flag, with one flag in the middle of the map.

Global Thermonuclear War - There is a nuke in the middle of the map, and both teams have to get to it and set it off.

OneFlag - Just like capture the flag, but one team defends the flag and the other tries to capture it.

VIP - One team tries to get the VIP to the extraction zone, while the other team tries to kill the VIP.

It's unknown if these game modes will be available later as DLCs for the Xbox 360 and PS3 users.

I copied this right from the site, no trimming.
Who gave us GTNW and the other game modes we played? Uh huh. Apparently only available with a developers console, or a retail console that has been enabled.

Here is general idea about what a " DONGLE or JIG" does.

The PS3 can enter a special "Service Mode". When it does the bottom right hand corner of the screen has a red translucent rectangle with the words "Playstation 3. Factory/Service Mode" inside of the rectangle. It is rumored that by plugging a special JIG in the USB port, the PS3 is triggered into Service Mode the next time it boots up. This special mode then accepts firmware code loaded in from the USB port, and allows reflashing the firmware chip.

Here is a Quote from the developer of the exploit:
"Over the months there has been a lot of inaccurate information circulating in regards to how exactly the PlayStation 3's Service Mode works, and as promised in our previous Dev updates here are some of the facts to help separate the rumors and speculation.

It is a fairly simple process as follows.. For starters, the PS3 is powered off, and a special USB dongle, known as the Jig, is connected. The PS3 is then turned on, and then off, once it has detected the Jig.

After this occurs, the PS3 is then turned back on, into "Service" Mode. From here, the PS3 is re-flashed using a Firmware Update on a USB stick, specifically designed to only install from the Service Mode. Once the PS3 is re-flashed with the software, it is then used in conjunction with a PC running customized software, specifically the DEX.exe and CEX.exe's.

There are a multitude of special PS3 firmwares, basically three major ones. The first is a Core system, followed by the Service System, then finishing it off with the Final Software.. usually Retail.

From the CEX/DEX PC side software, just about anything can be done: Copying, transfer and resigning of box-specific items like PSN games, user profiles, etc.

Furthermore, the systems can be re-flashed to any software version as well. The system's keys can also be "rearranged", such as the marrying of the PS3's BD-ROM Drive (or controller) with the mainboard. Needless to say, this can do a lot more than a simple "Recovery Menu", as it can change firmware and more.

Over the last few months we have also compared the flash dumps (pictured below) done by our very own courier of a PS3 in Service Mode with a Retail (and a Debug) and found that the systems are primarily alike, however the Bootloader 1 of the Service Mode PS3 differs than that of the other systems. Work is still being done by the resident PS3 Devs in trying to pinpoint exactly why this is the case.... Link(You must login or register to view this content.

Im still researching, Ill keep you posted.
