To be clear, I have not just hex edited the PKG and added some code to the bottom like so many other patches floating around, I have extracted, modified and repacked with actual Content-ID and k_licensee from the real patches. One thing to say though, it has not, I repeat not been tested!

This is from Xbox-Scene and credits go to Provenance.
"This tool will patch your default_mp.xex to remove security checks, allowing you to play modifications of the multiplayer .ff files. This tool is written to work with the initial version of the title from the disk, and WILL NOT connect to Xbox Live nor is it meant to."
The above clarifies further more of what the default_mp does. Even though the file extension is xex it still applies to .self
***More Info***
I just discovered that the default_mp.self tells the EBOOT.BIN what to execute. Every game has a default.self and a default_mp.self. So basically the file is telling the EBOOT to give us a syntax error. If you find out more please post a reply.

We are talking about how to hack MW2, not about how to do like Hunter and Unkn0wn did. Tired of people say, no Hunter could not cause havn't that and etc. We are trying to hack MW2, and i think there is more than one way.

I've seen old quotes from hunter saying he was working on decrypting the HDD, it's possible theUnkn0wn's method is for ppl with newer firmware or something like that, or maybe hunter tried and failed the HDD method...

Hunter succeeded on the hdd method but only on cod4 and w@w
