(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hi, I have a 3.41 PS3 and it has a faulty blu-ray drive. I jailbroke my PS3 and installed FTP server. But after I start FTP server, I get a black screen. I have tried CJPC's FTP server and Blackbox FTP server and I still get a black screen and the only way to get to the xmb is by turning the PS3 off using the power button.

I searched everywhere on the net and could not find a solution. Any help will get you in my challenge lobby, I promise. Once I sort this problem.

Thanks

I bought the PS3 yesterday, and I was told the blu-ray is faulty. But now im not sure, if ther is a blu-ray drive in the PS3. I tried to put a disc in, and I pushed the disc inside. But it made no difference.

I thougt you wouldnt need the blu-ray drive in order to use the FTP server.

The Logic Board needs to be connected to run Applications,Games,Downloadable Content. Just open it up and check what's in there its not hard dude just make sure if its a 60GB be careful with the lid as the card reader needs to be unconnected.

I opened the PS3, and the ribbon that connects to the blu-ray drive was not connected. I then connected the ribbon and pressed the eject button and my disc came out. Smile

But then I tried starting FTP server and still got a black screen. I thought it was the blu-ray connection but now thats fixed, I still get a black screen when starting any homebrew.

Anyone know a how to solve the black screen? Please.

You do not need a disc to run the FTP server.

Is your FW at 3.41?
Is your ps3 connected to your home network?

Im running Hermes V3 on my Iriver H10
And it dont work :( , I install FTP with no problems, then i click boot, the screen sparkles (Like when booting a game) and then it stays black.

Well I use PSFreedom through my htc incredible and I don't use any discs in my 3.41 ps3. Only time I ever put one in was to update MW2 to 1.11. I used PS3 FTP Server 1.0 and now I'm using Blackb0x 1.2 and neither time have I needed to have a disc in the blu-ray player.

Also, as soon as I start my FTP Servers they always are ready to connect, maybe your firewall is blocking it somehow causing the server to be unable to start?
