(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hi, I have a 3.41 PS3 and it has a faulty blu-ray drive. I jailbroke my PS3 and installed FTP server. But after I start FTP server, I get a black screen. I have tried CJPC's FTP server and Blackbox FTP server and I still get a black screen and the only way to get to the xmb is by turning the PS3 off using the power button.

I searched everywhere on the net and could not find a solution. Any help will get you in my challenge lobby, I promise. Once I sort this problem.

Thanks

But then I tried starting FTP server and still got a black screen. I thought it was the blu-ray connection but now thats fixed, I still get a black screen when starting any homebrew.

Anyone know a how to solve the black screen? Please.

My ps3 did the same thing, there is the blue LED for the BD drive, but nothing will go out or in the drive and nothing spins.

Try pressing the eject button at the black screen, that fixed it for me. I'm still having trouble sending the patch to 3.50 though.

Also, as soon as I start my FTP Servers they always are ready to connect, maybe your firewall is blocking it somehow causing the server to be unable to start?

How would the firewall block it, when I cant start any FTP server on the PS3. The FTP server is ready to connect after it has started and you can see it on screen that FTP server has loaded.

I cant get to that stage yet.

I can insert and eject discs, the blue LED light flashes when I eject the disc or insert it. And I can here the disc spin inside the drive but nothing happens on screen.

Please could you explain how you got FTP server to work? so you just press the eject button at the black screen and the FTP server then starts?

Thanks

Ok, so I click on FTP server, and the screen stays black. I try pressing the eject button on the ps3, the hard drive indicator flashes for a second, and the FTP server comes up on the screen. Im using the composite 3 pin cable to my tv if that matters.
Only difference is my BD drive cannot take games in, or read them, or eject. Its like the power is cut to all of the moving parts.

Ok so I tried that, but no hdd indicator light flashes and the PS3 freezes with a black screen. I have to then turn the PS3 off by holding the power button and it beeps twice when goin off. I am also using the composite cable.

What PSJB are you using and what hex is programmed on your board?
Thanks.

And I think, your bluray drive, the ribbon cable might have got disconnected. Maybe that is why your drive seems to be dead. Open your PS3 and check. Worth a try.

I'm using a TI-84 graphing calculator with a PsGroove ported app revision 0002 on it. It works like a charm almost every time. Does the blue LED light up when you insert a disk on yours?

And about the ribbon cable... My 3.41 PS3 is already out of the casing, with the only plastic on it being the back connections plate. The metal casing on both the PSU and main board were VERY hot, so I decided to leave it out of the case, and added a fan infront of it while it's running.
I've switched around the cables many times, tried cleaning contacts, nothing worked. I think I touched it while I had static build-up and fried a component. And since BD drives are unique to each PS3, looks like I can't get a replacement. I might ask my friend if I can borrow his ylod'd 60 gig original, fix it, and try it on that.

Yeh, the blue LED lights up when inserting and ejecting discs, and when a disc is in the drive, the blue LED stays on.

What is the full name of the psgroove port you are using? I would like to try it on my board.

Thanks

The site is here.

The version I used was 0.01.0002.
I'm not sure that it will work on anything other than the TI-84 though.
