Post: *NEW* Backup Method for Transferring Patches

Today I will be showing a WAY FASTER and *NEW* way to tranfer patches:
PART 1:
Transfer the patch from the 3.41 PS3 to the 3.50 PS3 using any method you would like.
PART 2:

PART 3:
Find your USB on your computer:

Click on "PS3"

Click on "EXPORT"
You must login or register to view this content.
Click on "BACKUP"
You must login or register to view this content.
Now you can rename the folder with the numbers on it to whatever you want.

This is what I renamed the folder with numbers on it to:

PART 4:

PART 1:

You have to make sure that on your computer you have show hidden files and folder enabled.
Then when you go to your usb device, click on trashes and delete everything inside

dude im so confused does it work because i tried this before with my 3.50 ps3 with a custom patch and i backed up the stuff onto my storage device (ipod) and i went to my comp and hooked up my ipod and i put the patch_mp.ff into the folder(but i forgot to rename it)and once i did that i went back on my ps3 and restored it and then i went back online and still the same patch please help.

Hey Guys,
A lot of you are getting confused about this. The first thing that you have to do is Jailbreak your ps3 like you normaly would if you want to transfer patches. Keep in mind that above, I am talking about Jailbreaking on the 3.41 PS3. Once you have transfered patches on your 3.41 and did Data Transfer Utility(What I use) you then do the tutorial I have listed above.
People are saying that when they connect the usb to there computer and try to put the patch on, it doesnt work. That is because YOU CANNOT put the patch in the folders. The only way you can use a new patch is by repeating the steps you would for Jailbreaking.
The tutoiral I listed above is so that if you have a patch on your PS3 and want to back it up and switch back and forth between 2 patches, then you can.
I hope this small update has cleared things up guys.
