Post: [default_mp.self] File and what they have done!

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So basicaly i have done some tests with this file and these are the results.

- First i tried a 1.11 patch and deleted the default_mp.self and it worked (i know this is basicaly bypassing lol)

- Then i tried a non host patch and that works perfectly on 1.12 even without deleting the default_mp.self.

- After we tried loading mod menu patches on it with the default_mp.self (undeleted) and it just ran a normal patch not the hacked one.

- So basicaly there is either a script of some sort in the default_mp.self that disables mod menu and other scripts or there is another patch in there that basicaly when you load up mw2 if it reads both files and there not the same it will reset with the patch that is in the default_mp.self.

So i will be editing that and messing around with it and ile see what i can come up with.

try this: have on of your friends delete their 1.12 patch from xmb, have them use the patch (mossy) blocker. Since your on cfw you should be able to bypass w/ out the patch blocker by deleting default_mp.self. Then, they should be able connect to you. Tell me if it works, I can't go online to test atm myself. I really need sum1 to test this. Smile plz reply or pm

im not on cfw though, i use data transfer

right,

here goes!!! I'm no coder but this is what I have done so far....

I have managed to open and play around with the default.self & default_mp.self & eboot.bin files....

I looked at coding and changed the 1.11 in the files above to 1.12.... I then added DT's Blackrain edited patch!!!

I managed to get it working on PS3 3.41 no probs.... so data transfered to my online PS3 which didn't ask me to update, worked in private match but took it online no go!! there were no games & no connection!! My theory is they are running different servers as people have said... I'll play around and see were I get!!

If we can get the ps3 to bypass firmware checks, surely we can bypass patch checks

Sounds interesting. Is this true? Seems like we won't have much space to edit though :/

if it were loading the common_mp.ff the care package glitch would work but it does not so it loads a freashly new patch from the default_mp.self

Seriously, another thread like this? I thought I already explained what they did? its checksums in the self and internal script assets in the executable. They check GSC's individually.

I do not know if we can trick it to running a GSC, but keep trying to who ever is testing..

You're probably better off trying to trick the 1.12 server into letting you run on 1.11... If you know what I mean .
