150 - 80 = 70 = $70 for infinity ward on night vision goggles - $40(cheap rip off profit) =
$30. I approximate they will spend no more then $30 on those goggles.
A GOOD pair of night vision goggles aren't available anywhere for <300$ and the ones actual hunters use go up to $1500. These will be second and, cheap, and a complete rip off. After you waste your money on it don't go blaming anyone on why no one told you.
$300 and $1500 are the retail prices, granted the $1500 will be better but even those manufactures don't spend a great deal to make them. I suspect the they can make the 300 dollar set for 100 and the 1500 dollar set for no more than 500. Everybody is in it to make money, we all know that. There would be no since in making a set for 299 then sell it for 300.
And people, nobody said anything about super high tech military NVG's. We all know that ain't in the picture.
I guess the question is- is 70 bucks a good investment for a soap bust and novelity night vision, plus the downloadable token?
The token alone is worth 10.
I say yes, but I probably will not buy it. I haven't decided yet. I know I definitely will not be playing the original COD when this comes out, so thats a draw back. They are pretty cool and 402 did say they were working NVG's.
I still say they will be functional however you'll probably look like a idiot wearing them. I do not think that they will be as cheap as people think. Why would infinityward want a bunch of people- who paid premium money- disappointed with their product. It's not like they need the extra sales because this will most likely be the best selling game of all time. I bet infinityward and activision put time in to this idea. Hopefully for the people who buy them it will be worth it. No matter what they use it for.
