I just wanted to post this to let everyone on PS3 know this is NOT AN ISSUE WITH A PATCH, and it does NOT take a patch to fix this issue, they are transfering to a new server that is bigger and more stable, as they did not expect to have as many users online at one time (over 200k last night online at once.)

This is not an issue with the trophies, and this is not an issue with party invites.

TROPHIES WERE PATCHED AND SUCH IN Patch 1.02!!!!

PARTY INVITES WILL BE PATCHED BY Friday November 13th, 2009. Please be patient.

THE SERVER WILL BE FIXED WITHIN 2-3 hours so don't believe ANYTHING idiots say when they say it won't be fixed today or that it is a patch issue.

well iwas on i rebooted ps3 now i can't get in

yeah its amazing and so far this is the only sucky part of it. Just finished the entire single player like 5 minutes ago and beat a mission in spec ops, I want multiplayer (for those who have not played SP yet... it is BEASTLY!)
