For years people have been begging him to move to a FPS platform, to demonstrate true skill. Many doubted that he could make any sort of impact in the FPS realm, claiming that the games he was most famous for didn't require any twitch reflexes or tactical strategy.

Well finally the day has come. Athene is now playing MW3, and he's dominating.

Here is an example of one of his most recent videos where he goes 30-0. An extremely impressive display of skill, reflex, and insightful commentary.



Rumor has it he'll soon be moving to the MLG circuit.

While I agree that he has a big ego, it isn't entirely unjustified. I mean this guy is used to success. He wins at everything he does, how can he not be proud of himself? Verbalizing that pride isn't such a bad thing - most of us would probably do the same thing if we had the same level of success he has.

For the people saying he's bad; I don't think camping in itself is enough to classify someone as being bad. Honestly most "pro" players rely heavily on setup from their teammates to succeed, things like spawn trapping or basic zone control; are they bad for this reliance? Does it make someone individually bad because they require their teammates to help them succeed? Free-for-All is the purest form of first-person-shooters; you rely on no one but yourself and you do what it takes to win.

Sure, controlling a small building (or "camping" if you like) may not make for the greatest spectator sport, but if it works why not use it? People who complain about camping remind me of players in Street Fighter who complain about corner trapping with Hadokens. It's not an unbeatable strategy by any means, in fact it's fairly easy to deal with if you have any knowledge of the game whatsoever, but when it works it works. Abuse it until your opponent counters you, and then adjust your strategy in turn.

And yes he is extremely cocky and completely terrible at this game.

Put me into a FFA with the most OP weapon in the game, a portable radar, and 4 idiots who will keep coming back to try and kill me and I'll go 30 - 0 too.

I can't believe I just watched that whole thing... I don't think I've ever listened to a more annoying commentary in my life. I mean and even if he did go 30-0, those idiots kept walking into the building barely even looking up to see where they were going. They looked like combat training bots.
