What a mistake !!

It must have the lowest damage out of all the shotguns, and the slowest recock time ever. Most of the time il get a hit marker and then they will just kill me, even from a couple feet it can't kill. I've beaded through it and currently have it at rank 13 but I really cannot be ****ed to wait until 28 to unlock damage proficiency to see if it actually makes a difference.

The gun literally has me screaming st my TV it is so crap.
Has anyone else tried using it and have suffered the same pain I am got through? :fa:

I'm a shotgunner, so of course once I hit 10th went on the path to get all of them gold. Previously to that I had only used the striker from 1st-10th prestige (got 22k kills and 2k headshots with it), although, I would never spray it which is why it was such a hated gun.

The first gun I got gold after the Striker was the Model. And it was a pain. Once you get damage on it it becomes slightly more bearable, but before then I would have to resort to dropshotting to be able to get a cock in before the other person shot me. Even then I'ld only survive 50% of the time if the first shot hitmarkered... of course then theres the times when you would get 2-3 hitmarkers in a row -.-
You probably need aproximately 500 kills with the gun to get damage on it, I'ld say go for it. It is a good challenge and once you get damage its a good pump-action shotgun which is, IMO fun to use. From there getting the other few hundred kills to get it gold is a breeze. One of the main problems with the model is the lack of attachments, which made it all the more harder to level up, but I say you should stick at it

However, out of all the shotguns, I *personally* found the KSG-12 hardest to get gold, I just found it got a lot more hitmarkers than the model or spaz and was a pain to use. Now I have them all gold though, so going for 2500 kills with them all

Keep in mind, those were my experiences before the shotgun buff/nerf which happened yesterday, I haven't tried them out with their adjustments yet :/

Seriously its got an "Attachments" proficiency so you can fit TWO attachments ......... WHAT ATTACHMENTS!! they are still thinking its mw2 FMJ and akimbo :carling: infinity if you read this (i know you faggot developers are signed up here) Put some F*cking attachment on the Model 1887, you unlock it last so it should have ATLEAST Fmj or even a BUFF!!! Sort it out kay:

me and my friend got it gold. i almost commit suicide trying to do that. it isn't worth the trouble and doesn't even have extended mags to give it that much needed damage boost.

i love the model 18's... Recon Pro, Assassin or Blast Shield, steady aim (to group the pellets closer) when you first start and when you get damage on i like to use Stalker.. it's not a gun you should run alone with though (until you get damage).. you stay close to your team and you can do well with it.. you have to make your shots count and use the range to your benefit.. Recon Pro is best for it since you can see what they are doing if you get a hit marker with the first shot or if they are far away and trying to flank you.. the Model 18's where the first gun i got gold with..

best advice is to always flash or stun before you go for the kill.. take any advantage you can.. it's got good range so use it the best you can.. when i used the xm25 to measure the distance i think it was 15 yards stock and 20 with range..

I too was having a real hard time with the gun.. I even had a killcam that took two shots from upclose and even the other team was saying that i should have killed him with the first shot..

once you get damage though.. its worth all the hard work you put into it.. I've beat people that had strikers just because of the range of the gun..

i guess i feel more satisfied using the model 18's then running around with the Striker..

Patch just came out to buff all shotguns (except striker which was nerfed)

Its a lot better once you get damage, as with all the other shotguns. It doesnt seem to me like its much of a grind, but maybe thats just because I've gotten both the KSG and USAS halfway through level 30 before prestiging.

I started using mine today, and after a couple of hours its level 18. Just suffer through it and you'll be rewarded when you get damage. Hopefully theyre much better once they get buffed in the next patch.

Yeah it sucks especially compared to Striker and even Spas.

I generally hate shotgun trolls though. To me a shotgun troll is a guy who runs around spraying a shotgun, going negative every game and getting rewarded by Support.

However for the legitimate guys who make shotguns look good,it sucks that the only good shotty is the Striker. Which at this point is like the AA12 from MW2 as far as spray and pray ability.

However I'm glad the Striker is so used. The more guns people claim as "overpowered",the less valid the overpowered argument becomes.
