(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I have an HP Pavilion dv6 running windows 7. I was playing cod waw then I stopped playing and rebooted. I got the HP logo then after that it hangs on the underscore with the black background. I can access the BIOS and stuff, all except for safe mode, as when I press F8 it doesn't work. I'm doing a hard disk test and I don't want to reinstall windows. I also do no have access to my cd eight now because I'm on vacation in California (1337 note, I saw Hutch in LA!). I do have access to 3 other computers because I have cousins here. I'm typing this on my iPhone so as you can imagine it took a while. Anyway, I had nothing plugged in except my wired mouse. I unplugged it and tried booting and it didn't work. I unplugged the charger tried booting, took outthe battery etc. I'm leaving my cousins house at about 12:00 pm PST. Im gonna shower so hopefully I get some replies. I don't want to be on a plane for 5 hours and 30 minutes flying back to Pennsylvania doing nothing.

Thanks

Same thing happened to me, my computer got stuck at the Starting Windows screen.

What I did to fix it:

When the computer was loading up, I pressed F8.
I opened the Windows Repair Window.
Clicked on Windows Restore/Backup.
Restored my computer to the night before.

Now it's working normally.
