Don't look at virtual memory, it is shit. It's actually slow unless you are using a 3.0 drive or are on an ancient machine. Reason, most 3.0 can only transfer about 30mbp/s while ram can handle a lot more information than that.

So you're saying if I buy the DDR3 Ram, it will fix my lag spiking problem or at least improve?

Yes, it should. It just appears to be a memory issue. Although your graphics card will also play a role in gaming.

The ram is needed though anyways, you can get the ram for anywhere between 30-80$. A good graphics card only costs 40-100$

What is your computers specs and what is running when these "spikes" occur. Your ram memory can only handle so much, your graphics can only handle so much and your processor(s) can only handle so much. Also, tell me how old is your hard drive and what is the speed of it, (5400 or 7200rpm)

If You have a 5400 with 500gb of memory, your hard drive has to search through directories to find data and then release it into ram memory, if it doesn't keep up with the ram memory and has to over process information, you can get spikes in processing speeds. This is normal for lower to medium end computers.

Press Windows Home Key + R and type in msinfo32

Then give me your system information from there.

Yes some specs would be nice and does this happen when just browsing the net or only when running games or programs, if so then could be lack of ram as Pichu said above. As for tune up utilities and these other so called programs they are a waste of time and space they don't relay work. I have i found a great pc cleaner and that is diskmax its great i use it all the time along with ccleaner those 2 would be all i would use. Give them a try. I see part of your problem...

What it appears to me is this might be an integrated graphics, it has DirectX9.0 support but isn't fully capable of 10, (Most games are 10 now).

You have very little memory to actually handle your games.

You will need to determine what graphics will work with your computer and buy a graphics card.

My advice, with what it appears; you have an older computer 3-5 years old. I suggest just saving up the money and buying a new computer. You can get a nice i5 that will play a lot of stuff for roughly 400-650$. If you wait 'till the end of summer, that's when the deals are.

Any way I can just buy the ram thing and the graphics card to fix it? And the game I wanna play is a 2d flash player game. Heres an example of it.

By the looks of the game, all that really is needed is the ram if that's all you want to play. Your graphics should be enough to support it.

So all I need to do is by that ram card and the lag spikes should go away?
