I usually try to use Kaspersky, I bought it a few months ago and have had zero problems with it, other than it doesn't like it very much when I reinstall Windows .
If you don't want to pay for the Anti Virus, Microsoft Security Essentials is decent enough, wouldn't rest my life in its hands but its free Smile

Lol, exactly what I do. My system runs so well; Norton is awesome but it just slows everything down and annoys me with all its messages and false alarm messages.

Slow, annoying, false positives... is that really so awesome?

Norton is horrible. It's only successful because they shove it down the throats of the computer illiterate at places like PC World.

Ok, I'm going to say it does catch viruses and malicious program very well, the only thing is for it to do that it has to be a bit tempermental when it comes to programs and so it slows you down and or gives the appearance of something being a virus when it fact it is not.

I say it's great to have but only if you have a fast computer. IMO though, I still find Windows Defender and Malwarebytes to be the best combination.

Norton in comparison to many other antiviruses, you have to admit, it's better than most. Look at all the idiots who get McAfee, shit I run a virus scan using Norton, Essentials and Malwarebytes on their computers and well damn, it picks up so much shit.

Norton does have some tools that is helpful to novices who don't know where to look on their computer for the exact same tools for free... but, still I'd agree it's not the best but it's better than most.

I think the extra hits it manages can be attributed to false positives. That problem was part of why I finally made the dive to ditch it a few months ago.
