yeah, to an earlier post, none of this would of happened if that idiotic cop had just used a taser. instead of going gung ho and pretending to be chucknorris.

As impossible as it sounds, there's no real person at fault here. You gotta feel bad for the family, but they thought he had a gun. For those of you who think they should have tased him, tasing someone with a gun is a bad idea as it can cause muscle contractions, therefore making him fire. While he may not have had a gun, in the case that he did it would be a very bad idea to tase him.

There was no "right" move for the cops. It was an unfortunate tragedy.

everyone is missing the main point here, its not the police mans fault, its not the man that got shot fault, its the booze, if he wasnt drunk this all wouldnt have happened and he would not have picked that water nozzle up, they need to put restictions on alcohol, i say ban it and un ban weed, u dont see people getting accidentaly pregnant, shot, jumping in rivers, climbing buildings or running on train tracks when ur under the influence of weed, u are actually calm

Edit:also u should consider re-naming the thread to; FOR ALL YOU BOOZE LOVING IDIOTS

If that gun was real and it was a bad person, those cops would of been killed.

Wow, whatever happened to tasers?

What's a taser going to do with someone pointing a gun at your face looking ready to fire?

I am totally against police brutality(victim of it myself.) but this is by no means a case of such.

What IS a case of police brutality is:

and even more close to home a friend of mine who was shot and killed by police with assault rifles:

Yea but instead of shooting him to death, they could at least try to see what he was actually holding.

Have a random, mentally altered(drunk/high) person point what looks to be a gun at you, looking ready to shoot and then try and see what he's holding. Had it been a real gun and a real bad situation, those cops could of been killed.

Exactly, this was just as the police explained it, an unfortunate accident. Upon first glance it looks like the police are at fault, but if you put yourself in their shoes, it becomes much clearer. They assumed it was a life or death situation.

If you want to blame someone, blame the guy who called in and told the police it was a gun.

Yea I agree with you, the guy who called the cops could of tried to identify what he was holding.
