Don't flame me for this but think of this situation from the officer's perspective.
Late at night, a drunk man who appears to have a firearm in his hand pointing at the police. I don't agree with how they didn't ask or taser him or something.
Very sad story 8( , Wonder what his 8yr old must be going through (poor sod). Sad also that no verbal warning was issued before the shots fired. Thanks for the vid m8
"Zerby allegedly pointed the object in a two-handed posture from a seated position that looked like what a person would do when they are about to fire a weapon."
pretend to shoot a cop with ANYTHING in your hand and see what happens. /facepalm

Sure it's sad that he didn't have a gun and was a water gun, but don't forget we're looking at this in hind sight. We now know what he had. Imagine being an officer at the scene. The item looked like a gun, I would mistake it for a gun too. And if it was dark, it would look more like a gun. If he brings his arm up to into the firing position, the officers have less than a second to act. If he shot an officer, that would be 2 people dead rather than 1, or maybe 3 people, depending on how fast he could fire them off. What if he had just committed a murder? The police don't know what he's done/doing if he's holding what looks like a gun in his hand. No one, including you, would want to find out either. You would do the exact same thing so you should be angry at them for doing what they are trained to do.
