(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Right this stemmed from a debate in the sbox last night that sort of ended up with americans v english... This is not what this is about!!! I am aware that the majority of people here are american so this should be a landslide!!

The NFL is a great sport but surely rugby players are harder (maybe thicker) for not wearing pads but we will see what people think...

Football or soccer as the americans call it is a national pastime but again a minority sport for americans who just dont seem to be able to grasp the fervour or the basic rules!! Not flaming honestly us english dont do too well in world cup either (we live on our 1 victory in 1966)

Athletics you americans are great at no-one can touch you I have to give you that!!! Although us brits seem to do well (good enough for us anyway) in the longer races (mile marathon etc.)

Basketball over here is hardly played except in our high schools and then its not very competitive!!

So this is just a quick poll to see what the results are....

Please dont flame i'm doing this out of curiosity.

English - Football , Rugby , F1

All fast paced games with lots going on and you can actually enjoy watching them without adverts every 5minutes.

American - NFL , NBA , Nascar , etc....

NFL - the game drags on for so long because the girls have to switch teams from offense to defense and line-up then do 1 play and stop for 1 or 2 minutes again. Its gets boring.

NBA - Timeouts WTF? 'nuff said

Nascar - Left turn racers, Boring as hell sitting there for 300 odd laps watching cars turn left and nobody overtaking without the 'spotter' telling them LMAO.

I still enjoy watching American sports even though its quite boring, but this question is ****ed up as no American is gonna admit to not liking their sports more, nor is the English people.

I agree with what you say ... reluctantly regarding the sports but i dont agree with the verdict that people will only vte for their country (basically) There are a lot of good and bad points with each of our games you have said it from an english point of view but it would be good to hear what an american (even a canadian) has to say about our sports can they make as valid and well put a point as yours?

Formula 1, Rugby and Football are worldwide sports, not English.

Doesn't matter they all started in England originally, and to this day our leagues and F1 drivers are the most popular in the world.
