Climbing up the ladder
The NFL is a great sport but surely rugby players are harder (maybe thicker) for not wearing pads but we will see what people think...
Football or soccer as the americans call it is a national pastime but again a minority sport for americans who just dont seem to be able to grasp the fervour or the basic rules!! Not flaming honestly us english dont do too well in world cup either (we live on our 1 victory in 1966)
Athletics you americans are great at no-one can touch you I have to give you that!!! Although us brits seem to do well (good enough for us anyway) in the longer races (mile marathon etc.)
Basketball over here is hardly played except in our high schools and then its not very competitive!!
So this is just a quick poll to see what the results are....
Please dont flame i'm doing this out of curiosity.

Where's Ireland? Were better then England at rugby! And by the way, Rugby is like a national sport over here same with, G.A.A and Hurling, I think Ireland should be included in this, we have some pretty good sports. No this is not a flame. And I picked English, on the sole purpose that I don't understand American sports.

Have you ever tried watching an American sport on TV? Adverts every 15 minutes. That ruins things. England on the other hand don't go to adverts in the middle of games. But English sports are better, Baseball is basically Rounders which is a girls game. Basketball is boring and NFL is for those who have never heard of Rugby.

You cannot really decide whether U.S. Sports are better than (English) Sports. I am American so it would be very very ignorant of me to say that American Sports beats all.

I think it's very ignorant to say British sports instead of English sports. English, Scottish, Welsh and Irish don't liked to be call British so don't discriminate and class us as one group.

We get a lot of streamed sport here via ESPN sky sports 1'2'3 extreme sports Right now for instance i am watching LIVE MLB DETROIT AT NY yankees so we can form an opinion based on the sport we see. I could not include the irish sports in my poll as i dont think many english or americans have even seen gaelic football or even know what shinty is... I can count myself lucky that I have a bit of education and travel and have seen various sports in various parts of the world but it still always come down to English (where most sports started) or American (where you lot seemed to have exceeded us!! or ripped the game off to suit your own purposes!!! Just joking!!)
