Well considering the US join in 1941 when the war started in 1939 means you arrived late. The only reason you joined was because the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbour, which makes me think, would you have joined otherwise? Most likely not.

Then in 1959, America starts the Vietnam war which lasts for 16 years. America, by themselves (yes, no help from any other country) LOOSE to people who could be classed as Jungle men. People who were not as well armed as the Germans were, who had no technological weapons such as bombs, who had no planes to use. Unlike the Germans which had all of these, good weapons, planes, bombs and artillery.
Now, if the US can beat the Germans (who were better prepared) as you all like to think, what the **** went wrong in the Vietnam war?

Yeah but you had a beef at someone for calling you British instead of English. That doesnt make some one a retard. Britain is made up of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland, so anyone from those are classed as British. England is not a country, nor is Scotland Wales or Northern Ireland, Britain is the country, so in actual fact you are British.

We went into Vietnam becuase the French asked for help. The French were getting owned (hence their modern saying "make love not war") trying to keep their 3rd world country and was losing control.

We helped you in many different ways without actually fighting. We gave you guys ammunition, weapons, planes, tanks, and ships to help fight before we entered the war. Our ships giving you stuff were getting sunk by German U-boats so we got involved in Germany and fought them. We(allies) defeated the Germans before Pearl Harbor even happened. The Japanese Emperor Hirohito saw that his side was loosing and wanted to try a last ditch effort to win the war. He bombed Pearl Harbor and we waged war against Japan. Without our help you would be Germany today.

The Vietnamese had guerilla tactics that are hard to defend against. It isnt one side in a field is the Vietnamese and the other side is the US..they would get owned. They hid in trees and knew their ways around the jungle. They would shoot at us in the trees and hide. They had a much bigger force than we did. All those "planes bombs and artillery" was useless in the Vietnam war. You didnt know where to call it in. They were in random trees and the jungle was endless. Many Americans got sick becuase of the diseases over there and the gooks would be civilians by day and guerillas by night. The Germans had buildings. Not jungles. We can call artilerry on specific buildings, call attack helos in becuase they can see them walking in the street. You cannot see the vietcong under the trees and take too much risk of friendly fire by calling arty.

The British were involved also.

And stop making fun of my brothers. The Marine death ratio for riflemen was 50% in the Vietnam war.. 50 ****en percent. All those Marines died becuase of the politicians wanting to stay. The smart people in America go into business and technology where as the dumbasses go into politics.

Actually, Russians did most of the fighting and won WWII. US just came in to have it's name in there :p

The Russians did do a lot of fighting. They had at least 14 million casualties. But they did not win the war by themselves.
