Just today, my internet was shutdown again with the claim this was the 3rd notice (btw they never gave a second one), and the last one came with an email (btw there was never an email). They made the claim that I had still not deleted the movies from my computer. This was true, but I had deleted the files from Vuze so they were no longer seeding. To comply I deleted both movies and out of a request uninstalled Vuze.

I thought this was false of how they knew this as they claimed they looked inside my computer, which I consider an invasion of privacy and illegal. As I pondered this I went to my doctor and he told me that he received an email from the MPAA asking for the release of his information (which by law he can't release without my approval). Now I was shocked. Not only did they look onto my computer, not just monitor the internet, but they actually went on, somehow found out my insurance and name, then proceeded to find out if I went to a Doctor, then to email him on the issue.

I was telling my parents that there is no way what they did was legal. If anyone here can help me by showing me some acts and bills preventing these kinds of actions would be greatly appreciated.

BTW The MPAA was considering persecuting me and charging my father with $250,000. I thought this was BS. There was no second warning. I wasn't seeding. And they don't have the right to look onto my computer.

I'd say you've got a good case here. But if you try to sue chances are they will countersue and you will end up with the $250,000 for pirating movies

Recently, I went online to discover I had a message saying this was my third notice of having illegal movies on my laptop. Firstly, only one notice previously was ever given.

Next, it stated that last time an email was sent with the notice informing me of this. No email was ever sent.

Later in continued onto saying that your services went onto my computer only to discover the movies that were downloaded remained. May I ask how? The California Constitution clearly states -
"SECTION 1. All people are by nature free and independent and have inalienable rights. Among these are enjoying and defending life and liberty, acquiring, possessing, and protecting property, and pursuing and obtaining safety, happiness, and privacy."

The fourth amendment also guards against unreasonable searches. There was no need to search for the material. It also requires some form of a warrant to be present and displayed. Neither a warrant or an email was ever sent.

So under what grounds does the ISP have the right to look and see what is on my computer.

I have recently sent personal documents that hold important information, as well as bank account numbers and do not feel comfortable with the ISP reading them.

It was also made clear to download the application from which I downloaded them from. I used Vuze. It is not an illegal program, therefore I cannot be made force to delete it.

I think it would be better if you seek the advice of a lawyer. Not hire one, just phone them or pop in and ask them the law on the matter. If they say it will charge, tell them to **** off and find another. After all, it's only help they are giving, not their appearance.

Also, there is an encryption option in Vuze. Google it and turn it on. That way your ISP can see you're downloading, but shouldn't be able to see what.

this is the right ave to take, even get your doctor to write them a note stating that their invasion of privacy has made you a bag of nerves ect
