Today we are making history in California by ensuring that our textbooks and instructional materials no longer exclude the contributions of LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) Americans

So just wanted to post this to prepare cali. :happycry:

Do a barrel roll!
I have no problem against normal gays who act normal. It's just the creepy ones the freak me out. They act all girlish and they just make you want to hate them..

Great, I usually dont bash gays, but honestly, i dont want to learn about some gay dude or have my kid learn about them neither
Its not a history, its a personal choice for people. Not something that should be taught

I don't see the point in history, Its so last year anyways :carling:

Whether you want to admit it or not gay people are just as important and capable as straight people are. It might do some people well to set aside their differences and just accept this as a step forward in the gay community.

Dont get me wrong, they have made strides within their own community and that is a good thing
But basically saying it HAS to be taught in school is like promoting/teaching younger children to be gay. Thats my train of though anyways

So I guess teaching them about straight people makes them all heterosexual

I agree, all these laws do nothing but alienate gays even more. We don't pause every time we teach a history lesson and say "George Washington was the 1st President of the United States of America. He was STRAIGHT. Abraham Lincoln saw the country through the Civil War, he was ALSO STRAIGHT." so why should we with gays? If we want to accept them like we do straight people we sure as hell aren't going to this way, we're just labeling them out as ""different" even earlier for kids.

Why should it be relevant, really? If we want them to be accepted more in society, it's not going to happen by pointing them out in history as "different".
