(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hi,

Well i'm 16 and in December i'll be 17, and i'm planning on going for my test straight away. I'm planning to get a scrapper for the first few months until March, when here in the UK the new letter (61) comes out.

My budget is at the most pushed at £40,000 (around $64,500). I've been thinking maybe a You must login or register to view this content., a You must login or register to view this content., or a You must login or register to view this content..

What are your thoughts on these or do you know any other cars in that price range, new or second-hand?.

Who ever NEEDS a great car, it doesn't make a difference if your 17 or 70... it's not ever needed, its just something i've worked hard for for years. Please don't be a twat about it.

I don't think anyone is "jealous" of it at all. And the reason why everyone is saying that daddy or mummy will be buying it is because of the budget you have of 40k. And "worked hard for years"? Doing what to get 40k at 16/17? Seriously mate. There is no need to buy a car that expensive at your age. Ever. For a start, the insurance will be mega high, probably about half the car+. That is if you can even get a car like that insured at your age. Secondly, you're more than likely going to crash because you're new to driving. And that's from statistics and why insurance is so high. Do you really want to ping a car that expensive? I'm 20 and cannot afford to buy a car. I've been saving since I was like 14 and I have no where near 40k, and neither does anyone I know, so I have no idea what you have done to get that much, but please if it's legal, let me know. I look to insure a £800 car and the insurance at cheapest is £4400, for a 2000 reg £800 car. Now imagine the insurance on a BMW or Audi to someone who is an inexperienced driver with 0 no claims bonus.

Have you talked to your parents about it? No one is being dicks, you asked for our help, and we gave it. And to be honest, everyone is right saying you don't need it, because you don't. Also, people might start to hate you for it. Why? Because there is no logical reason for a 17 year old to drive a 40k car other than to "show off", which people don't like. It makes you look spoiled because everyone, like here, thinks your parents bought it. If you have so much money, why not save it up for a house when you're older?

I'm into the family business and i was lucky for as in the set up was already there and i work for my dad. I know i'm lucky, i'm not saying i'm not but it kinda sucks people are being ****s for no reason.

Get a Lotus Elise SC man. It's a pure driver's car, in your price range, true to your country, and sexy as f***.

With you there mate, I know a kid from school and his entire family work at the same shop, he does jack shit in school and hasn't got many real friends, I'm not saying that this Danny guy is a dick or anything it's just my opinion, but you don't need a good first cat anyway, If I was you id get a Gold GTI, nice little cars, not some flash thing that costs $$$$$$$ to repair and buy fuel for, anyway if people see you driving around in a flash new car, they will hate you, I don't know why that is but it's the way we humans are :/ anyway don't you want to save your money for a house or holiday in the future, that's what I would do - instead of blowing it on a car thats going to get scratched and battered a fair bit

- hope I've sent you in the right direction :y:
