Who ever NEEDS a great car, it doesn't make a difference if your 17 or 70... it's not ever needed, its just something i've worked hard for for years. Please don't be a twat about it.
I don't think anyone is "jealous" of it at all. And the reason why everyone is saying that daddy or mummy will be buying it is because of the budget you have of 40k. And "worked hard for years"? Doing what to get 40k at 16/17? Seriously mate. There is no need to buy a car that expensive at your age. Ever. For a start, the insurance will be mega high, probably about half the car+. That is if you can even get a car like that insured at your age. Secondly, you're more than likely going to crash because you're new to driving. And that's from statistics and why insurance is so high. Do you really want to ping a car that expensive? I'm 20 and cannot afford to buy a car. I've been saving since I was like 14 and I have no where near 40k, and neither does anyone I know, so I have no idea what you have done to get that much, but please if it's legal, let me know. I look to insure a £800 car and the insurance at cheapest is £4400, for a 2000 reg £800 car. Now imagine the insurance on a BMW or Audi to someone who is an inexperienced driver with 0 no claims bonus.
Have you talked to your parents about it? No one is being dicks, you asked for our help, and we gave it. And to be honest, everyone is right saying you don't need it, because you don't. Also, people might start to hate you for it. Why? Because there is no logical reason for a 17 year old to drive a 40k car other than to "show off", which people don't like. It makes you look spoiled because everyone, like here, thinks your parents bought it. If you have so much money, why not save it up for a house when you're older?
