We could potentially make about $778,000,000 a year in taxes, plus the extra 14 billion not spent on keeping it illegal.

Sure, that won't help...

I never knew that :O

Or a major problem it does need to be looked at

Along with a rebalance of how the US works

Only becomes a major problem when your nation stops growing keeps spending and fails to get enough tax in to pay off it interest along with the bond market seeing this increases your costs daily e.g. greece

Ya I know I'm just tired of the U.S though were doing everything backwards. After I graduate from college I'm going to bahamas or barbados

And how much extra money would be spent on law enforcement, medical fields, and lawsuits...? The government would not make much.

/facepalm Why would law enforcement go up if you could buy weed an Albertsons? Medical fields wouldn't change. I don't understand your lawsuits statement.

Law enforcement agencies would be busier with *idiots* who drive while under the influence of marijuana, in addition to the people who still try to steal, and smuggle marijuana. Yes, medical fields would change. Accidents and other physical injuries, whether accidents or not, would increase.

Do you realize the amount spent on law enforcement for the distribution of drugs and dealing with drug dealers?

You probably live in a affluent area. In lower socio-economic areas, people have not received an education and do very stupid things. Let's say that the government earns $3 in taxes for a purchase of marijuana, or more. ONE accident where law enforcement is involved costs $1000+. An ambulance ride nowadays is an upwards of 900 USD...

Actually, we have. I believe it was back in the 80's or something. When Reagan was President.
