Actually, we have. I believe it was back in the 80's or something. When Reagan was President.

I'd have to look it up. Not to sure if the states have ever not owed some money..

Unrelated: Btw I checked out your music page. Good work on that stuff. You programming the drums in midi? Let me know if you'd like something mixed, I'm an audio engineer Smile.

The politicians in Washington need to step their game up. Pointing fingers and attacking each other is never and will never be productive.

If we defaulted on the national debt...we take them with us in a sense.

Defaulting on a 14 trillion dollar debt however would cause a second recession.

You probably live in a affluent area. In lower socio-economic areas, people have not received an education and do very stupid things. Let's say that the government earns $3 in taxes for a purchase of marijuana, or more. ONE accident where law enforcement is involved costs $1000+. An ambulance ride nowadays is an upwards of 900 USD...

but your making the assumtion there will be a accident from every purchase and that is not going to happen, will there be acciedents from it? yes but not as often as you think

and people already smoke it thus those accidents already happen and are already costing money, so why not tax it thus covering that cost and making a considerable profit from it? not only profit from the tax but from the money saved from the money they already spend trying to prevent people from using as in the ads,the police man hours, the court cost, the penial system cost

no matter how you try to look at it this would be very profitable

As previously stated, there would not be a 1:1 accident/purchase ratio.. however, the money the government receives is miniscule compared to the fees associated with accidents.. I am aware people currently smoke, but if it was legalized, you don't seem to think a vast majority of the population would try, if not begin smoking marijuana? Profitable to the dispensaries.. not taxpayers.

The USA is ****ed. The UK has a big debt too. Although we are bringing it down, life has and will continue to be shit for the decade. The same will happen to the USA.
