According to NBC, the Rodemeyers had gone to the school about the problem in the past. Jamey even sought counseling to learn to deal with the problem, but it seems it wasn't enough.
While they say their son seemed happy in the days leading up to the tragedy, his "It Gets Better" YouTube posting from May includes details about how intense the bullying was.
Through it all, Jayme remained outwardly optimistic. “That's all you have to do. Just love yourself and you're set. And I promise you, it'll get better,” he said in the video, which you can see in full below.
Gay bullying has been gaining increasing attention in the media, as a number of tragedies has brought the issue into the spotlight. Earlier this month the California State Senate passed "Seth's Law" a measure designed to curb anti-gay bullying in schools.

Maybe if he was a little less out going with his emotions towards men then people wouldn't have picked up on this and the kid wouldn't have taken his life.

It was still an option because his body was still functioning properly and he had to shut it down himself... He had the option to live much unlike someone with a terminal illness who has no option... He made a decidison to end his own life and that is a choice in reality no matter what your opinion or how you personally feel about depression and suicide... YOU ARE WRONG

I love how you speak as if you're this man, you aren't, you have no idea what went on his head. I've been chronically depressed before, and I can assure you that suicide is always running through your head as it's the only way of escaping the pain you go through everyday in life. Thanks to my parents I got through my depression and didn't do anything dangerous, he probably didn't get any support from his parents/guardians, or not enough. If they did, they would of had him move to another school. His parents were probably against the fact their son was gay, and did their fair share of 'bullying'.
Please, please, stop talking like you know everything, when you go through an abominable moment in your life and you have severe depression like this guy had, you will understand to why he chose to commit suicide.

No, Im not being picky because that is the basis behind my entire argument: that it is no ones fault but the person who commits suicide in their cause of death, that is why it is ruled as a suicide BRO. This isnt a win/lose situation, as earlier I stated my opinion, and this part is just simply fact. Thank you for admitting that in fact I did not lose an argument and was "technically" right... Ok Bill Clinton, technically you did not have "sex" with that woman but you sure did something close to it

You have never been near suicidal or depression I'm assuming, you have no clue how much it feels. It feels as if every minute you want to ball out crying, but you can't. That there is nothing you can do to stop the pain, and that it feels that much worse. I have been in depression with several suicidal thoughts. I promise you, it is one of the most painful feelings.
And yes, it is ruled suicide. But your reasoning is ****ing terrible. Under your logic if I had a toddler a gun and keep pushing it towards his head and he happens to pull the trigger its entirely his fault!
If I happen to throw gasoline all over a house without telling the owner, and he flicks a match its his fault.

Are you really saying that the people that bullied this guy everyday at school, anyone else that bullied him (maybe his parents) are not to blame for this guy to end his life? that is possibly the stupidest/most ignorant thing I've ever heard.
