Protein > Creatine IMO Creatine is cheating all it does is add water to your muscles and once you stop working out your muscles get saggy

Creatine and Protein are both great tools you can use to bulk up. Just a guess, you're probably a decent athlete at a JV or Varsity level. In all honesty, you could do without and still get amazing gains in your muscles and strength. Here's my stats from april vs may, April was pre-creatine, and may was post creatine.

April
1RMs (One Rep Maxes)
Bench Press - 135
Back Squat - 225
Power Clean - 95

Size
Height - 5ft 11
Weight - 195
Arms (Circumference around at widest point) - 14 inches

May
1RMs (One Rep Maxes)
Bench Press - 185
Back Squat - 305
Power Clean - 145

Size
Height - 5ft 11
Weight - 205
Arms (Circumference around at widest point) - 16 inches

As you can see, there's a huge difference between the two. Anyways, I've been taking creatine for about 3 months now, and I use 6 star. Fruit punch is amazing. As far as protein, I use 6 star as well. It tastes great in double chocolate. Both are cheap and just as effective as the other brands. Another brand like 5 star is body fortress. They're protein is decent, but the creatine they have is complete shit. I bought a 5 lb jug, and I've used it twice, it just can't be stomached. Of the two, I would use creatine over protein, creatine is proven to work, and is harder to get naturally, creatine is in relatively few foods naturally, such as fish. Protein is in yogurts, all meats, and some nuts.

How do you weight 205 but can only bench 185?

Edit: and OP, I'd recommend just eating more protein than normal, have some protein bars or some shit. At least thats what works for me.

I've read nothing but a ton of nonsense in here. Is there a best brand? No, not really. You will probably try something, get some results from it and swear buy it.

Truth be told, you can only take in roughly 30G of protein at anyone time, so some of the ones with slow intake over X amount of hours is good. There's also amino acids that can help you with the speed and intake, although 90% of most stuff will have them in. You also need the dreaded "carbs" as well. I have 2 types of shake, one with carbs in and yes, they do have sugar, the other with nearly 0 carbs. When I can get my own carbs, I'll use the latter, when I'm not in the position I use the first one. Incase you wanted to know, I use USN's pure protein and the other I use is a cheaper one made in my area, but it's the same as all the branded stuff but I get it half the price :P

Creatine I have used and can vouch for. I used something called Kre-Alkalyn and it did help me progress myself through the levels, although currently I'm not taking anything other than protein. It's very good for getting you going in the beginning though and if you do go for a Monohydrate you "may" not will as suggested above.. put on some water retention. The same goes for Steroids though, it's just how your body deals with things. You will look bigger quicker though and you will be able to lift more, so it's worth giving a go.

Anyway, happy lifting!

Creatine fills your muscles with water but then it again it does help you recover. My protein has a little bit of creatine in it which helps me recover.
