I believe guns are amazing devices as they save lives everyday. I strongly believe that guns shouldn't ever become illegal, as there are millions of people who own guns and take care of them responsibly. Occasionally we have bad people that do bad things; especially with the Colorado shootings that happened on 20/4/12 but I do not believe others should have to lose their rights because of some thing some psychopath did. Guns do not have a mind of their own, if you told a gun to kill someone/thing it obviously wouldn't do it, its people that are bad; not the guns. I believe that guns are great tools, for protection, defense, and many other things. I hope that guns aren't ever illegal, as then you're defenseless and just a "bitch" per say. I could get all political on you guys, but thats not what my intentions are in this thread. So saying that, what do you guys think.\

You know I have always liked guns, people need to realize that guns save a shit load more lives than they take. People say oh no, I hate guns they cause violence they are bad, they kill people etc. they save so many more people than the kill. Not to mention that as Gizmo said guns over in the United Kingdom are illegal without exception but people that have bad plans still manage to get ahold of them.

They are still always on the black markets. Another words if you want to do bad things guns being illegal would not stop them. I own several guns and throughout my household there are plenty. I plan on getting my pistol license at 21 and carrying a handgun also. You know when you buy a gun you don't buy it planning on shooting someone unless you have bad intentions that is but it first of all brings a feeling of safety to you and those around you not to mention for example the movie theatre shooting he wouldn't of killed 14 people if somebody would have shot that mother fucker in the head.

That's my take on guns.

Um, how old are you? My family owns guns, I hunt, nothing bad ever happens. So you're saying that the government should take away our constitutional rights and take our guns away, that would cause more violence buddy.

Also, for all the people who wana say i know nothing about guns, for the hell of it when i was 15 I took these NRA youth classes and im a sharpshooter by NRA standards. And just to clarify, all standards are the same for kids and adults, so i didnt have it easy. And to qualify has a sharpshooter for the the NRA you need to score i believe 25 or 35 points 10 times,which isnt that easy lol. and then you can try for expert which is 10 sitting,10prone,and 10 standing all with 45 point score or higher, imv not that good yet :p

Yeah sure there's nothing wrong with sensible people owning guns and denying the psychopaths of the privilege. But when there's literally millions of guns in circulation how hard would it be for a crazy person to get his hands on one and go on a rampage. Idiots can get their hands on guns very easily so it would be better if there were no guns at all.

Think about it. The only reason you guys feel the need to have a gun is to protect yourselves from other people with guns, wouldn't it be better if there were no guns at all? Here in Ireland there really is very few guns with a few exceptions, farmers, certain divisions of the guards etc. because there is very few guns I don't feel the need to go out and buy one for my own protection, do you not think this is easier?

Of course the shit that happened in Colorado wasn't an accurate representation of the full population but say you owned a gun and had a mental breakdown, maybe started taking drugs and such, what's to stop you from going out and emptying a few mags into a crowded area? I know a lot of you guys aren't going to like this post but it does make sense. The world would be a much better place if idiots couldn't get their hands on guns.

M4 and M16 are essentially the same thing, same gas system, same take down, same parts, etc. only difference is the M16 has a 20inch barrel and the M4 has a 14.5in barrel... which can be interchanged. Just saying ^^

As for the the rest of your response, I'm not into that competition shooting stuff, I like to shoot skeet and other shit with my shotgun but other than that shooting at target is much more entertaining for me.

What you fail to see is how reasonable your post is, there will always be guns, always. No matter how hard a dictator tries to get rid of guns in a country, there will still be guns. And guns aren't just to protect from other guns, what if you had a robbery and someone threatened to stab you? There are more stabbings than shootings so are you saying knives should become illegal? Like the picture says 65,000,000 legal gun owners didn't do anything. There will always be a bad apple.

No concealed carry here in California :fa: But that wont stop me from owning firearms.

I have only one thing to say about this. I think guns are okay, in a retrospect of a tool for hunting and self defense. Nobody really needs a Saiga 12k or any other sort of semi-automatic shotgun to go kill a deer though. I believe that, to a certain extent, people have to understand certain firearms should only be available to military due to the fact that there is no practical use for it in a normal life. People who own assault shotguns for "quail hunting" should really reconsider their understanding of quail hunting.

the whole make guns illegal deal is just plain stupid. if you are going to use a gun to do something bad it is usually illegal anyways so what is going to stop them from illegally getting a gun and using it against all of the know unarmed citizens because guns were made illegal?

making guns illegal will only make the world a worse and scarier place because the only people with guns are the bad people and you will have nothing to protect yourself.
