(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey guys my friends and I were having a discussion about public school education vs. private school education. We were mainly talking about education at elementary and high school levels but I guess we can open it up to all kinds of education. So do you guys think public school benefits someones education more and gives them better chances at succeeding in college or later on in life, or do you guys think private school benefits someones education more and gives them better chances at succeeding in college or later in life?

I personally think that it depends on who the student is but I do believe that private schools help create more options for the students and most likely have better sporting teams than public schools (I know this is a whole separate debate but I thought I would throw it out there).

Public school is more real life than private school. Although private school you have to pay for and its a hit or miss opportunity.

No school is like real life at all. It puts you inside this social bubble that you only escape from once you leave.

I grew up in a wealthy town so about 50/50 went to private and public schools for highschool
I'll tell you all the kids who went to private schools were well off (mostly because their parents could pay for anything)
the public school kids went 50/50 in their own ways too, alcoholics or a rare drop out mixed with plenty of stupid but people go to ivy league schools from the public highschool I went to all the time too
I cant say anything about the rest of the country though it's pretty obvious money gets you half of the way, the rest is on the student
like Bill Hicks said "if you want to see how free you are, try going anywhere without money."

Well I go to private school (which is where I am right now as I type, lol.) and I can honestly say that I like it more than public school. I shadowed my friend for a few days we had off but they didn't. There is a lot more drama at public schools. Fights every day. Public break ups. Obvious fails at hiding drug deals. (let me say that at least drug deals here aren't that obvious...) etc. This may just be because I'm at a Catholic school but almost every girl here is a virgin. Maybe this is because guys are afraid to ask if they would have sex or maybe some are really just that Catholic and don't want to. You can easily tell the difference in people. People who have drank or still do, people who have sex, people who do drugs, the few sl*ts in the school, the "weird kids", the mentally unstable kids, I could keep going on. My point is, at private school its way more strict, as well as cut and dry.

I am Jesuit trained, private schools, which inferred an odd set of very real privileges (and advantages). Without a doubt there may be a lot more benefit to private schooling than public schooling when it comes to general education -- but public schools don't necessarily lag behind when parents and students work on building opportunities or supplement education.

Private schools have the additional benefit of also constructing academic and professional networks that public schools certainly do not. Private schools themselves grow out of gaining the adulation and money of their alumni, who then have a reason to look back at their alma mater and lend them (and their students) a hand. In fact, the parents of friends and staff from my previous school are part of my professional network who I often use to give me angles for stories or ins to places I otherwise wouldn't have access.

Private schools come along with built in opportunity.

There's a difference between overly-strict teachers and Nazis. To be honest this just highlights your immaturity.
