It depends what type of RAT it is.. If its the Dark Comet RAT then there is a program made by the creator of Dark Comet that removes the RAT. You could just restore you computer back to factory defaults.

That seriously sucks big time.

First, boot into Safe Mode. This should ensure that the RAT does not start.

Next you should go ahead and download MalwareBytes and run a full scan. Remove everything that it finds.

Also, press CTRL ALT DELETE and open up the task manager. Click on "Show processes from all users" and take a quick snap and post it. There should be a service in there that is probably using a name very similar if not identical to an actual legitimate process.

You understand that if you posted this from your computer then your ratter can see this!
but yeah boot into safe mode and run a scan. If its a rat then its probably a Sciddie somewhere so they wont be superior enough to have thought a way around safe mode.

You're Goddamn Right
take any files you need then reinstall OS, better to be safe
viruses can be undetectable to all AVs

I'm not currently on the infected computer, but I've installed a few things and removed everything they've found, and also installed a new firewall that monitors inbound and outbound connections. Hopefully this will work.

I think that I MAY have it cleared up. I installed a few programs, and a new firewall that monitors inbound and outbound connections. Going to be watching this for a while, and see if anything pops up unfamiliar.

:fa: It wasn't a "random file", I just can't reveal what file it was from a method in Elite Forums.

I'd rather not do that. I have a ton of files that I would loose if I did that.
I think that I really need to invest in an external HDD so that I can backup my important files from the get go.

Happen to me most likely his got all your information reboot your computer to factory settings to be 100% sure the rat is gone, dont depend on rat removers not all of them are detectable. Like I said just restore computer to factory settings and change all your password and emails as soon as possible. Hope I helped goodluck Smile
