You said "rep me killswitch"
And, thinking you repped me and I didnt rep you back, responded "Dopey if you rep me and leave a name I rep back"

I thought you repped me and didnt leave a name, and thus was commanding me to rep back.

Now back on topic...but not really:p

Like CobraD said, the founding fathers wanted separation of church and state. That obviously did not happen along the road.

yea they wanted a separation of church and state because they believe that a country should have as much freedom as possible but that doenst mean they didnt believe in God. they themselves did in fact believe in God...

and i posted that to basically shut cobra up lol

They knew the problems when church and government were intertwined, like the medieval ages.

And over 99% of people back then believed in god(s), so thats not saying much.

The founding fathers came here so they didn't have to be one religion. They came here for religious freedom. Now from that you could say they were atheist or religious, either way they're dead.

I said they thought bible was a piece of crap, not that a god didn't exist. They believed a god did exist but not the christian god.

now stfu and rep me

Sounds a lot like when the majority of people in the US thought that slavery was perfectly acceptable. Sorry, but just because you have a majority, it doesn't make the idea any more right.

And about the religion crap we are talking about, don't diss the bible.

The only founding fathers who were Deist were Ben Franklin and Thomas Jefferson. And they weren't truly Deist to begin with. Have you ever heard of Episcopalian? That's basically Protestant which is Christian which means they believed in God and the bible. All the founding fathers including Ben Franklin and Thomas Jefferson were Episcopalian. Ben Franklin and Thomas Jefferson decided that it would be best if they were neutral in a religious state if they were to be part of the government they created so they decided to "drop" their beliefs.
Don't try to say I don't know what I'm talking about. I wrote a 13 page essay about the true religion of our founding fathers in the 17th century. I got a B which was high because that professor only gives one student an A per paper.

Apparently you had faulty research.

Well I'm sorry to hear that. Don't take my debate comments personally, I do the same thing to everyone. Ask Coltz for example.

In regard to the original topic, you can't legally be forced to say the pledge. If your teacher tells you to do it, just tell her no. She won't be able to do anything about it.
