(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); With all of the talk of Billions vs Trillions its hard to comprehend how much money the US is in Debt.

Here is a graphic of the current 16 Trillion Dollar debt limit( a number that has to be raised every year), Remember that we are talking stacks of 100 dollar bills, each pallet represents 100 million dollars. Obama has added nearly 6 trillion to that deficit in the last 4 years, But pictures can speak louder than words.

So Obama only accounted for the left wall in this picture :p
As far as who owns our debt, China accounts for the first stack on the left, Japan owns the second stack,(each owns just over 1 trillion in US treasury notes) The third stack is owned by all the rest of the countries in the world( both England and Russia own about 150 billion each)

Who owns the other 13 trillion???
US citizens have the responsiblity to pay off that amount of debt through taxation!!
And you thought your credit card balance was getting out of control

For some other perspective, all of the damage caused by Hurricane Sandy is estimated to cost about 20 to 30 billion dollars.
That is roughly the amount of the top 2 rows on the short stack at the bottom of the picture

Our Debt is 53 times the number of stars in the Milky Way Galaxy, and if we had 8 more stacks of a trillion ( or leave Obama in office another 4 years)we can equal the number of miles it would take to get to the next closest star a mere 4.24 light years or roughly 25 trillion miles away Winky Winky

Good job.

You've just summarized Romney's only key point in his campaign.

a) That made no sense at all.
b) The joke is only funny once.
c) Do you know what I was talking about? I was referring to the fact that Obama blames all of the nation's deficiencies on Bush.

I knew that we were in debt, but never imagined this much :/
My Geography teacher told use that the US gets about 20 trillion dollars each year, so if we wanted to, we could pay off our debt, but it will put us in a bad position.

a) Mitt Romney keeps saying Obama can't blame it all on bush. (not literal word for word (inb4))
b) I found humor in it.
c) I knew exactly what you were talking about which is why I made the remark.

People get so offended about presidential candidates and I really don't see why. It's ironic how people can make absurd comments and then get so offended when someone makes a remark that isn't so far fetched. People need to stop being so arrogant and ignorant. It's just as bad as religion. In addition the election is so close I don't see a point in trying to change someones mind at this point.

Now, Lovol I still love you . But seriously, lighten up :blank:
