(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So lately I thoughed about the option becoming a Soldier.

I thinks it's good to defend your country, and help the world. I don't know if there are soldiers on this Forum but i'd like to ask if you are how is it like? and give me some tips.

Greetings,

Not all soldiers are deployed in combat zones. America has bases around the world and you could be stationed for a few years in Japan, then Germany, then Guam, then Hawaii...would make life a lot more interesting compared to living in a stupid suburb all your life.

Much rather be in a "suburb" with my family than over seas, still not good travel.

I've known friends & fam that've been to places like Norway, Japan, Germany, South Korea, Bahrain, Turkey, and of course different parts of the US. You travel to more places nicer than just war-ridden areas like Afgan. & Iraq...

Not sure if that's what he meant.

Travelling to war torn parts of the world, or parts of the world that isn't as developed as America or other first-world countries can be an eye opening experience. Most of the times people do take life and luxuries for granted, and recognizing the harsh realities of the lives of people who aren't so lucky, IMO, is not an opportunity that arises everyday.

Just a heads up, you can't just choose infantry. It depends how you do on the ASVAB and whether where they need you. (This is US, IDK if your from here. )

RIP PICHU.
Let me say this, I've had many friends go in and say they were going to do this and that. When they got in; they found out they were not smart enough or that the spots were not open. They were then forced to select something else on a list and go with that.

I've got friends who were planning on being on a ship, Europe, Asia, places like that. Now, they are in a contract because it wasn't open and have to spend the next 3-5 years either in Texas on a base cleaning or staying on watch before they get to select again.

Some were trying to become military police, nope; they clean the base or are on watch. Only a few are in training to actually go into combat.

Sounded that way. Maybe I took it wrong.
