I noticed a lot of people with anime related avatars and signatures on this website so I thought it'd be nice to have discussion thread. It's always nice to talk about shows with people and there does seem to be a number of anime watchers on here.
I'd suggest that you make an account on You must login or register to view this content. if you watch anime. This website is great and you can log all the shows/movies you've watched and give them ratings.
I'm currently watching Katekyo Hitman Reborn. It's a fairly slow starter but picks up pace around episode 20, if you can tolerate the start then you're in for a treat. I wouldn't say it's up there with the best I've watched but it's definitely worth a gander if you want to watch a decent shounen.
If you're reading this thread and haven't watched anime before and need some recommendations just post in here and I'll sort you out with a show with links for it.
I've just started Shingeki no Kyojin/Attack on Titan which is currently airing. It seems pretty strange from the first episode but it's quite promising. 25 episodes are planned and there's 4 out so far, if anyone is interested in watching.
Last I heard, it's this season's SAO. Though I've not watched it myself and made up my own opinion though to be honest I don't intend to. It doesn't look like the sort of thing I'd watch anyway (Frodo.jpg)
The best things airing this season are Railgun S and Yuyushiki, Aiura is great but alas it's only a few minutes an episode which is a shame, I'd love 20 minutes of it. Other popular shows seem to be Attack on Leviathan (Or what ever the fuck it's called) and Photo Kano, Though at the Moment Eva 3.0 is making the most noise and I'll watch that sometime this week.
I haven't really been recommended any other show apart from that. When I have finished KHR I'll watch the other 3 episodes and tell you how it is. It's a very different show from what I've seen in the first episode, couldn't really compare it to anything else.
I'd recommend it if you aren't watching anything else that's interesting you much.
Has anyone seen any of the Young Animator Training Project short movies? I've watched a couple today and they've been quite impressive. Death Billiard was a great watch, hope that gets a series as I'd definitely watch it, has potential to do a lot too.
Full Death Billiard for those that don't want to download:
Just started JoJo's Bizarre Adventures and it's been decent so far, supposedly gets better in the second half of the show, but it's been a good watch so far so can't wait. The OP is awesome too:
I also completed Katekyo Hitman Reborn! yesterday, it's a really good shounen and would recommend it to anyone. It starts quite slow but it's still a worth watching because the comedy is pretty good. It does end up developing and has some great action episodes when you hit around 50 eps+
It's criminal if you haven't seen the master piece that is Death Note.
Based off your list I'd recommend Death Note, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Code Geass, D.Gray-Man and Baccano! There's so many shows for you to watch to be honest, but most of those I suggested are god tier.
You should also watch 5 Centimeters per Second(Byousoku 5 Centimeter) and Steins;Gate. 5cm is a movie and the art is fantastic, Steins;Gate is one of the most highest rated shows as of recent and I've got to finish it off myself.
Smh I know man, I know... I really need to get on that. I'll torrent Death note for the time being, and if I like it, which I'm sure I will, I'll pick it up. Since I'm currently watching FMA so I'll probably check out FMA Brotherhood first, then, proceed with death note .
Thanks for the help man . Once I finish with the first few seasons of death note I'll post back here and share my thoughts on it with everyone .

FMA:B is awesome too, you're about to watch two 10/10 shows.

I watched Eva 3.0 yesterday? The fuck... Anybody else watched the new Rebuild movie here yet?
I need to watch the prequels first, heard 3.0 is first one that deviates heavily from the source material though and isn't rated highly by most fans.

If you haven't watched Angel Beats or Soul Eater, you should go do that. Like, now.
Angel Beats is twelve episodes and it is absolutely amazing.
I have Angel Beats! downloaded, I can't be bothered starting Soul Eater due to the length and the art isn't too much to my liking.

Yeah, you heard right, it's still okay/good but it's so different from the last rebuild film it takes a while to swallow.I watched 2.0 last year and since then forgotten the end and had trouble following the beginning of 3.0. It was good but man I just don't know what to think. The ED was god tier though such a great song.

I see you've watched all of those OVA/Movie things on MAL. I watched Death Billiard and Ojii-san no Lamp and wondered why I haven't heard of them before, they were both awesome and only 25 minutes long. Ojii-san no Lamp was probably better, was definitely more emotional. Death Billiard has more potential to be made into a series though I think, they could create loads of little games each episode and could be pretty awesome.
