For MMORPG's, at higher levels you're geared towards teaming up with some buddies and/or strangers to complete quests, dungeons, and raids (such as World of Warcraft). As for FPS, this is completely optional if you're not playing competitively and you can play alone for as long as you'd like without running into problems, although playing with friends is enjoyable.

What do you prefer? What games do you like to play alone, or in groups with people?

I like playing with small groups, too many people are hard to have conversation and it's usually too loud. 3-4 people to about my limit.
