I've only watched a few, but the one that I thoroughly enjoyed was Death Note. Also, I started watching Elfen Lied because of a friend, it's good so far. I don't actually take time to watch anime anymore, so I guess my selections will be based on the general mainstream population.

Have a 3x3 of my nine favourite shows.

You must login or register to view this content.

Mushishi - Because it was really nice and easy to watch with interesting likable characters and seeing him travel to all different places and find out more about the mushi and solve problems and mysteries for others was really relaxing. I'd also say this was iyashekei.

Cardcaptor Sakura - I loved it, I wasn't sure what to expect because of it's appearance but it was great. Sakura, Tomoyo, Li and Kero-chan are all really likeable and the animation was superb, all the different costumes she wears really make and impression on you and give you the feeling that the people loved animating the show. If I'm ever sad or miserable I just stick a random episode of this on to unwind and make me feel happy again.

Serial Experiments Lain - Really interesting show but the plot was hard to follow and required me to read some background info on after but I really liked it out of Abe's works this and Texhnolyze are my two favourites. Also loved the kind of cyberpunk atmosphere it had going especially the scenes from inside cyberia.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes - Probably one of the best anime ever to be made, at 110 eps + numerous extra OVA's it's rather long but it makes incredibly good use of those episodes developing the characters further. Some people complain it has too much talking but I found the show to be thoroughly gripping from beginning to end the first 30 eps most of all. Definitely worth watching but not if you're new to anime.

Clannad - Still have a soft spot for this, I watched it and fell in love with the soundtrack and atmosphere it builds up. It's constantly getting you to cry bitch tears but it's still pretty good. A really nice fantasy love story though the endings fucking retarded.

Welcome to the NHK - You will never have a cute angel like Misaki come to save you from your NEET ways. The protag is a great guy and incredibly likeable watching his story move on with Misaki was thoroughly enjoyable.

Yuru Yuri - Love all the characters in this show (Except Chizuru) It's a school comedy based on a group of girls using the disused tea club room as their own Amusement Club HQ, it's pretty much just a comedy SoL with a group of chronic lesbians.

Princess Tutu - Ballet motherfucker. Incredibly good Mahou Shoujo, marathoned most of it. Has a great soundtrack and a really beautiful but rather sad story definitely worth watching even just for the dancing and music.

Kaiba - First half was exceptionally good and details 6 different love stories from around the universe the last 6 follow the main story line. What's unique about this show is the minimalistic artstyle and the way that in which bodies do essentially matter because people can transfer memories via chip to new bodies so you encounter people selling their bodies to make money and spending years dormant as chips. What's most moving about this is that the body no longer makes the person, it's the memories which have value and the name kaiba comes from a plant which gets nourishment for eating memories. There are some really touching moments in this show that I don't think I could watch again without crying.

Also what's everyone's favourite show from the current season and are you looking forward to anything coming out in the future?

My favourite from current season is either Uchouten Kazoku or Kiniro Mosaic and I'm looking forward to the 3rd Madoka movie that should be getting here sometime soon. Also got 3 figs from the show ordered plus a key chain they should be getting shipped in the next week unless the key chain holds everything up like it is at the moment...
