Ill start off :My fav anime is Naruto becuase ive been watching the show since the age of ten now im 16 the anime has gone far because of the action its absolutely amazing cant find any other words to describe it

Attack on Titan, hands down. It is the best anime ever created in my opinion.

- Death Note

If you want to try something that isn't total shit, give maybe Welcome to the NHK, Planetes or Texhnolyze a try. That's in order of accessibility.

The series that's pretty much widely accepted to be the best anime made so far is Legend of the Galactic Heroes, thought it's not an entry level show and will probably bore you to death if you don't like politics and space battles, none the less though, here's the trailer:

Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

Everything about it is great. The quality of animation is fairly sharp, plot works, and has interesting characters along with battles. By far one of the best endings for an anime.
