Good Question.
I don't know about everyone else, but personally, I feel that music influences me.
If I was listening to say "Teenagers by My Chemical Romance" it makes me feel rebellious towards those that try to control me. I mean after all, my life is exactly what it says on the tin... My life.
Whereas in comparison to listening to "Avicii" it makes me just want to dance/drink and not worry about growing up.
That's my opinion, my views. People will differ.
Music is made to change the way we think and act, and I think that's what makes it beautiful.

I feel that music puts me in certain moods. Like if I listen to depressing music, I look back to all of the things that have happened in my life that have caused me pain. But if I feel really happy or excited then I listen to upbeat music
It definitely does influence people, to what extent is arguable though. Certainly I feel much better listening to music for about an hour or so a day, but I was never one who could listen to it 24/7 like some people do.

Music is powerful my friend.
I really like bagpipes (instrument) I find them just awesome, no idea why, but anyway... I saw a Bagpipe cover of 'Amazing Grace' on Youtube and I already knew that Amazing Grace made me feel really happy, personally, it put me in a good mood. But when I listened to this, it was different. I felt sad, like I was going to cry.
Music is brilliant at relaying emotions onto listeners. Turns out the version I listened to was from a war film where a soldier died or something.

I really like the bagpipes, always enjoyed listening to them at the Remembrance Day assemblies at school. I believe they covered Amazing Grace as well. I'm from Canada, so in our ceremonies we take a lot from the Scottish in terms of the music having the bagpipes.

Absolutely. Music is something that people form a strong bond with, often associating it with events they themselves have experienced. It's also something that can physically be felt. It's a great form of art and a tool for expression. The reason any music becomes famous or popular is because it influences or strikes a chord with people.
People are influenced by music in a powerful way, one that no other form of media seems to have. People can be moved by music to take an action or to change themselves for the better. People use music as a way of relating to each other, and it can give a sense of belonging to some. Music truly is wonderful.
