I wouldn't do it if I had a child nowadays, a few years ago maybe, just how its come on, I was as a child but more shouted at or 'told off aggressively' which I feel was good for me, got the point across well.

Things like getting the point across should still happen, but when you see a parent either letting there child be a pain or tell them off in a calm voice and not really give a dam anymore, that's when there are issues, They are never going to get the point across and the child will grow up thinking some things are acceptable when they aren't, and I feel there is too much of that ATM.
