I'll start off.
I don't think time travel exists. Well, okay I sort of do, but I think of what everybody thinks time travel is like in Back to the Future or the Butterfly Effect where if you go back in time and fuck something up and then go back to present time and everything is fucked up there; I do not believe this is time travel, I believe this is moving from one alternate universe to another. Because what about the rest of the Earth that didn't "time travel" with you, wouldn't they notice that something has been fucked up?
I made this ghetto diagram in paint to help illustrate

My theory is that if time travel is possible, somehow the universe would have a system that is kind of like a compiler where if you have a syntax error (You fuck something up in the past) and you try to compile (go back to the present) it will catch the error and tell you your error (Push you into an alternate universe where your choice has been made)
Anyways, I'm really fucking tired right now, please tell your opinions :p troll or not idc
In all likeliness, it probably does exist now, but it'd be government-sanctioned only. Now then, if we go with the Butterfly theory, and you did do something in the past and come back, how would anyone possibly know the difference? The timeline you came from is gone. These are people who lived with the consequences of the choices you made. They won't remember any difference, because there wasn't any. How do you know JFK was supposed to be assassinated? How do you know a government employee didn't travel back and get him killed? Maybe you were supposed to be a highly-privileged, rich family, but someone went back and killed your grandpa and took his fortune. Bottom line, if it exists, you won't know about it. The ramifications of it are too vast anyway, considering you'd be playing God (whether you believe in a deity or not), and have no restrictions. Why would a normal person ever have access to such technology? Someone would go back and win the lottery. Even if things like the Philadelphia Experiment, and such are true, the government would do their best to cover it up. Like some users said, if it exists, then at some point my future self would visit me in the past, yeah? That's horribly naive. I think parallel universes and time travel should be two different things. Parallel universe would be theoretical universes that coexist along the same timeline as ours -- in theory, couldn't that mean there'd be times where sections of two worlds could appear along the same space-- I see time travel as traveling along a timeline, and any change in the past creates a branch off the original timeline, or upon a previous branch -- meaning that, yes, the original timeline would have a check for inaccuracies, but it would be impossible to return to it. Not one person, aside from you, will have memories of the previous timeline. But that's just my opinion. I believe in supernatural and extraterrestrial phenomenon, so it's whatever. Opinion on alien life? There was a radio signal sent to us decades ago from lightyears away. No reemergence since. Opinion on demons? Houska Castle in the Czech Republic is said to house Satan, himself. There's even a throne for him. I wouldn't want to be at that precinct, much less inside, where it's true or not. I dare the ballsiest person go up there and spend the night in the throne. (Something about apparitions appearing outside the castle, and ghostly voices.) But, it's whatever. Frosty out.
