Not trying to start a flamewar or anything but Daisho has been here along time and knows what he's talking when it comes gfx i'm not saying you don't but you should really treat people with respect, no need to call him and ass he was stating his opinion.

Let me see if I can explain Daisho's position in clearer terms:
There's a difference between the Homefront poster/banner, and the photomanipulation from last week's controversial entry - not in any legal sense, mind you, but in an unwritten way. The Homefront banner can be used and edited under Fair Use, and there's no denying that. The photomanipulation is also, technically, under jurisdiction of Fair Use, but using the work that another artist created, not for public use, is considered ripping.
It's a matter really of integrity in the online community. No one can really uphold ripping. Unless someone posts in every piece they make a Creative Commons Attribution Non-Derivatives license, they're not technically protected by law. But in the online community, it's unwritten law that using another artist's work without their permission is considered ripping, even as a derivative work (hell, in some cases simply reposting another artist's work is considered ripping, like in a person's sig).

PED IT. DQ DQ DQ DQ"Oddly enough though, he did about 10x more work than you can tell just by looking at it. Note that the position of the buildings in the background are different compared to the focal, the 2-5 layers of brushing, the coloring, the lighting, and about 3 or 4 layers of text.
