Recently, Activision posted a casting call for the upcoming 2010 Call of Duty title, confirming the game's Vietnam setting. It it's ad, it asked for an actor "to record voice-over and motion capture work for a character named Frank Barnes, who is part of an elite Vietnam unit, the Military Assistance Command, Vietnam - Studies and Observations Group." Seems like pretty good proof that the game will be set in the Vietnam war, some time in the late 60's/early 70's - I guess we'll still have our M16's!

Expect an official announcement from Activision some time soon, where they will be sure to unveil many details of the game. Hopefully Treyarch will be able to engineer this game to turn their failed reputation around.

Level 1 Trustworthy-
wait shouldn't it be COD 6, thats what the owner of the series said. Since MW2 was never a cod in the beginning. It was MW2 not COD6-Modern warfare 2. So it will be " Call of Duty 6: World at Vietnam" lol

That's what I was thinking. But I dislike going back in time, it's just not my type.

I would have gotten a good laugh if it was Civil War. We'd have to line up in front of each other and shoot LOL Happy

Good point. I wonder how they plan to portray this battle. There were actually a lot more nations involved in this war than most think.

ANTI-COMMUNIST
South Vietnam
United States
South Korea
Australia
Philippines
New Zealand
Khmer Republic
Thailand
Kingdom of Laos

VS

COMMUNIST
North Vietnam

another fail from activision...after a while when there is no more good wars to cover, theyll go to revolutionary war, french and indian war, all that BS...its evident that the call of duty series is getting hard up...whats after that Korean war? desert storm? operation iraqi freedom? escape from guantanamo bay? im almost sick of war games due to the un originality and same old stuff over n over n over again....IW failed with mw2..now theyll fail with vietnam...treyarch does better with the cod games..even tho i dont like older guns..the games arent hackable compared to Iws fail modern warfare series...i swear ill spam the game forums if they give campers ANOTHER security blanket like juggernaut for waw...or heartbeat sensors on mw2...
