My how the tables have turned once again. A surprising turn of events occurred the other day. In regards with the court case between George Hotz (Geohot) and the Sony Corporation. The Judge overhearing the case actually went into the favor of Sony Corporation.
The judge decided California did indeed have jurisdiction of the case and granted Sony's request for a temporary restraining order (TRO) against George Hotz.
What does this mean? It means that he has to surrender his PC's, PlayStation 3 consoles and just basically anything he used while hacking into the PlayStation 3 console/gaming equipment.
So in this thread I would like to see what your comments about this is. Do you feel bad for him or do you agree? Can't wait to see what you guys have to comment on.

Once again, just because you bought it doesn't mean it's yours. You have the right to play it and such BUT once you start tampering and jailbreaking your PS3 all bets are off. Sony can give you a fine if they wanted to, instead they just ban the PS3 ID. If you want to cheat because you need to cheat for the fact you suck at the games go to PC.

The software is Sonys, I don't have a right to change it. I do have a right to put whatever software I wont on my Hardware.
A "Playstation" is simply a low end computer with locked software.
What you're implying is that if I bought a computer with Windows on it, I don't have the right to change to Linux.
Hardware is yours, you own it and have a receipt to prove it.
Software is theirs, they made it and give you the privilege of using it.
Simple enough to understand?

He obviously doesn't understand how the real world works. You cannot simply change something that isn't yours to work as how you want it.
