The speculation is all for good reason. Call of Duty Elite has been confirmed; and it may be a game-changer!

Call of Duty Elite will give you free access to any MW3 map pack. Therefore, it won't just be something you can get for $5. Beachhead Studios is rumoring that you will be able to gain exclusive access, to exclusive content. Currently, they are hinting at 100% custom weapon camos and member-only spec ops levels.



They are aiming to be more functional and also more aesthetically pleasing than Halo's stat tracking program. You will be able to join and create groups; that have their own leaderboards. So, you can compare all of the members in your clan, to see who's slacking. You could also join a group for your region, to see how you compare to local gamers, and possibly meet new people.



Activision has confirmed that there will be competitions with real prizes, like iPads and Microsoft Points; for the winners.

Call of Duty Elite is aimed at making you a better player, while also keeping you up-to-date. The service will have dedicated applications for your mobile devices, so you don't have to be confined solely to a computer to use it.

The price will make it or break it for most of us, I'm excited to know what it will cost!

Regardless of the price, this already sounds like a big waste of money.

If they truly wanted to be revolutionist they'd make ALL this shit free, then show up people like Bunige, the MOH Devs, and the BFBC Devs.

They'd also add guns, camos, perks, etc as DLC instead of just maps. That'd set them apart. They can separate those who don't have the maps from those who do, so I don't see why they cannot add stuff like that as DLC. It's simple. If Player X doesn't have the DLC (Weapons, etc) then he/she cannot join Players Y and Z until he acquires the DLC, regardless if Y and Z are on the friends list or not.

Needless to say, I will not be investing in CO Elite unless I feel it's an absolute necessity, which with no weapons or physical DLC for the game (I do not count maps as physical DLC), then it's a waste of money.

so many games offer what elite is offering but for free

This just reminds me of Halo's website multiplayer features, and Bungie didn't charge for it!

Very interesting, except in my opinion there will simply be another cod in the future and then you get to pay yet again for the so called elite if you choose to. Another way to make money.
